Community Discovery’ Discovery Tours and Community Art Exhibition 2015
The kickoff of our Community Discoveries Art Exhibition at Kubrick, Yau Ma Tei is on July 1st!
“Community Discovery” is a public education campaign initiated by HKCSS – HSBC Social Enterprise Business Centre that aims to promote and discover local community, assets and culture.
Through our tours, we hope to bring to light the changes in the community and its unique local culture. This project also fosters the training of “Community Storytellers” - early retired, local residents of Yau Tsim Mong District. Through their insightful and personal narratives, storytellers will lead organized tours and introduce their community’s cultural and social characteristics through their unique perspective.
From April to June, we asked our storytellers, tour participants and local artists to use different methods to express Yau Tsim Mong from their viewpoint. Combining their efforts, we hope to create a community-based installation art exhibition that presents the charming hustle and bustle of Yau Tsim Mong district. The exhibition is open and free to public.

The ESG seminar held by Alaya Consulting provided a lot of information on the potential methods that a company’s ESG report can be constructed. The speakers from diverse organizations like World Green Organization and Fair Trade Hong Kong introduced topics like corporate social responsibility and fair trade opportunities that drive ESG reporting. One of the highlights of this seminar was a speech by our deputy head Richard Chow, who spoke about how social enterprises can support ESG reporting. Corporates that partner and use social enterprises fulfill ESG information that goes beyond the extent of financial reporting, while supporting various social missions.
