The Pro-Talent Association Ltd. was established in 2016 as a project supported by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Fund. The Association is founded by Professor Agnes Chan Sui-yin from the Department of Psychology, CUHK. Based on Prof. Chan's about 30 years of clinical and research experience in children with special education needs (SEN) and knowledge in neuropsychology, training programs targeted for children with SENs has been developed to improve their cognition and emotion. Since 2019, the Association has been funded and supported by the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme (ESR) under the Home Affairs Department, and continue to provide clinical neuropsychological training, as well as consultation and clinical assessment services, for children with SENs.
The EC Brain Project is a joint project launched by the Department of Psychology at the CUHK and the Pro-Talent Association Ltd. With its motto of "Changing Brain, Improving Emotion and Cognition", the EC Brain Project aims to provide brain science-based training for enhancing the emotion and cognition (e.g. attention, self-control and language ability, etc.) of children and adolescents. There are both individualized training and after-school group-based training programs. The Association also provides individual-based training for children who are suffering from SENs and from low-income family at an affordable price, also provided with elderly diagnostic assessment.There have been over a hundred of beneficiaries.
