Heightened Senses is a HKU backed social enterprise that aims to provide sustainable employment to the visually impaired people of Hong Kong.
Create a sustainable means of employment for the blind of Hong Kong by empowering them with professional acupressure and sports recovery training.
The venture aims to promote social inclusion and enhance the employability of visually-impaired persons by providing them with training on massage. The training will combine Chinese acupressure massage with sports massage and be delivered by Chinese medicine practitioners, physiotherapists and experienced masseurs.
Upon completion of training, the participants can work as professional sports masseurs to provide massage service to athletes and employees of corporates, developing their strengths and at the same time earning income to support their living. Advanced massage training will be provided for them to enhance their skills and knowledge to further develop their potential for a better living.
Through the massage service provided by the visually-impaired, the public can have a better understanding of their potential and social inclusion could thereby be promoted.
